Team Introduction
WORLD-AC (World Athlete Club), having the motto of "Road to the World from Okayama!", aims to employ and train para sport athletes and contribute to the local community through para sports.
Moreover, to convey and disseminate the wonder of para sports, we aim to participate and achieve results (win medals) in various competitions inside and outside Japan.
WORLD-AC
Our thoughts on parasports and our challenges
WORLD-AC was launched on March 1, 2016.
It was still rare for a company to launch a corporate parasports team in Japan, and it attracted a great deal of attention.
Matsunaga serves as both a player and coach. He wanted to create an environment where young athletes could balance their professional and competitive lives. He also wanted to develop athletes who could take responsibility for both. This desire motivated the company. The decision was made to launch the team as a corporate team, and instead of using the company name as the team name, the team initially decided on "WORLD," reflecting the lofty goal of aiming for the world.
In 2016, two athletes competed in the world's most prestigious international competition, making a start that lived up to the team's name.
Currently, the team consists of two teams, WORLD-first (top team) and WORLD-second (second team), who inspire each other and pursue their own goals.
As a team, we strive to keep in mind the important values of sport, both competition and enjoyment.
We want to be a team that continues to be supported by the local community and that people can be proud of. With this in mind, we will continue to take on the world!
WORLD-first
Developing athletes who can compete on the world stage
WORLD-first, the top team, aims to develop athletes who can perform on the world stage.
Aiming to achieve high goals and results, the players work half the day on weekdays and train with highly specialized staff and coaches the other half.
As top athletes, they hone their careers while balancing the roles of "professional" and "athlete".
WORLD-second
Enhancing personal growth through various parasports
WORLD-second was formed with the desire to bring sports closer to people and encourage them to grow while experiencing the inherent joy of sports and the joy of achieving goals through mutual encouragement.
Sports aren't just about winning; perhaps the most important thing is to maintain mental and physical health through sports. Athletes train and participate in competitions at their own pace.
Whether they aim to be top athletes or pursue their own goals, WORLD-second supports all parasports!
